Lesson 01

The Border Crossing

Bridges

In the DeFi world, networks (like Ethereum, Arbitrum, or Solana) are like separate islands. To move funds from one to another, you must cross a Bridge.

Moving between L2s typically uses a Burn & Mint mechanism: tokens are destroyed on departure and forged anew on arrival, while original L1 funds stay safely locked.

Navigating between networks is one of the biggest friction points in DeFi. Orokai simplifies this by abstracting cross-chain interactions into a single experience.

Real-Life Analogy

Border Crossing

A Bridge acts like a border crossing between two countries. Your funds do not literally "teleport". They get locked on one side, and on the other side you receive an equivalent that works in that country.
